P18 - Abhydrolase Domain Containing 15 (ABHD15) - a Key Factor in Lipolysis and Apoptosis

Principal Hypothesis and Objectives

We hypothesize that ABHD15 is a key factor in the regulation of lipolysis, apoptosis, and lipotoxic signaling. Accordingly, we will characterize various cell and mouse models to investigate the effect of ABHD15 on lipolysis, lipogenesis, and the lipidome of adipocytes. We expect that ABHD15, by affecting the metabolic and lipid signaling pathways, has an impact on adipogenesis and apoptosis.
